This week we are focusing on understanding major and minor songs.
Major is when a song has a happy musical sound to it.
Minor is when a song has a sad, scary, creepy, or maybe even angry sound to it.
When you are listening to your music see if you can figure out whether the song you are listening to is major or minor. Write down what you think and bring it to school! I will listen to your song and see if I can figure it out.
Next week we will be using Glockenspiels!!
This week we will be learning about melody!
Melody is the main idea of a song. It is the part of the song everyone knows and sings along with.
Melody can also be broken down into a combination of rhythm and pitch.
We will be using glockenspiels as the featured instrument during this unit.
Glockenspiels are different than xylophones because glockenspiels use metal keys instead of wooden keys.
